This Cookie Policy explains how Otofix uses cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar browser technologies on our website and web-based app experiences.

1. Essential cookies and storage

These are required for core functionality, including:

• Authentication and session continuity after login
• Security tokens and CSRF protection
• Load balancing and basic platform stability

Without these technologies, sign-in, account access, and secure requests may not work.

2. Authentication and session storage

We store session-related data in cookies or browser storage to keep you signed in, remember OTP progress, and protect your account during active use.

3. User preferences

We may store UI preferences such as language selection, dismissed banners, and navigation state to improve your experience across visits.

4. Local storage

Otofix uses local storage for:

• Cached profile or vehicle summaries for faster loading
• AI Advisor conversation history on your device (web widget and mobile app)
• In-app update prompts and version-check suppression timers
• PWA install banner dismissal state

5. Update notifications

The mobile app and web experience may store when you last acknowledged an update prompt so we do not repeatedly interrupt your session.

6. AI conversation local history

AI chat transcripts may be stored locally on your device for convenience. Server-side session memory may also be used for active conversations. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Performance monitoring

We may collect technical performance data (such as error logs and response timings) to maintain reliability and diagnose outages. This may use cookies or similar identifiers where necessary.

8. Analytics

We may enable privacy-conscious analytics now or in the future to understand feature usage and improve the product. If enabled, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent before non-essential analytics cookies are placed.

9. Managing cookies and storage

You can control cookies through your browser settings and clear local storage from browser or app data settings. If you disable essential cookies or clear authentication storage, you may need to sign in again and some features (bookings, vehicle history, AI chat continuity) may not function until storage is restored.
